What Is Surplus Funds/ Overages?
Surplus Funds are proceeds generated from the sale of your home at a sheriff’s sale*. If your home is sold for more than what you owe on your mortgage and for taxes, you may be entitled to Surplus Funds, which in some cases could total thousands of dollars.

Why Is The Money Available?
For example, in the case of real estate that was owned by you or an Estate, Properties are sold either at foreclosure or tax sale auction. Can't I Find The Money On My Own?
The governmental agencies we audit typically DO NOT post these unclaimed funds accounts online. You are welcome to search state unclaimed funds websites, but if you find funds there, these are not the funds we’re informing you about.
